In this article, we will run through the key points you need to know to obtain your new RESDX tokens.
Connecting your MetaMask to the Binance Smart Chain
We decided that the best option for the new RESDX exchange was to host it on the Binance Smart Chain, with the Ethereum mainnet to follow.
You’ll need to complete a few simple steps to connect your MetaMask to the Binance Smart Chain and add the RESDX token to it.
1. Installing and setting up MetaMask
MetaMask can be downloaded on Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, or on iOS and Android if you’re a mobile user. For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ll use the Firefox version, but the instructions will be more or less the same for every platform.
Firstly, you’ll want to head over to the MetaMask Download page. From there, select whichever platform you’re using, and follow the steps to install it on your device.
Next, follow along with the setup specified by the app. Go ahead and click Create a Wallet.
Write down the backup seed phrase somewhere secret (preferably not on an Internet-connected device). Without this phrase, your funds can’t be recovered if your device is damaged or lost.
Confirm that you’ve written them down on the next page. You should now see your wallet, ready to send and receive funds.
2. Configuring the wallet
You might notice straight away that we’re still dealing with an Ethereum wallet. At best, this won’t work with Binance Smart Chain DApps. At worst, you could lose funds by sending them to addresses you can’t actually use.
Let’s change that. We want to access the Settings to point the wallet towards Binance Smart Chain nodes. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
On the Settings page, we want to locate the Networks menu.
3. Add network
We want to click Add Network in the top-right corner to manually add the Binance Smart Chain network — it doesn’t come packaged with MetaMask.
It’s important to note that there are two networks we can use here: the testnet or the mainnet. Here are the parameters for Mainnet, the one you need to use:
Network Name: Binance Smart Chain
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
4. Add RESDX token
Once this is complete you need to add the RESDX token:
5. Click Add Token
6. Custom Token
7. Add the following information:
Token Contract Address: 0xB8B39C121927549Ec7c176Eb6bC84Cc8347C1F85
Token Symbol: RESDX
Decimal of Precision: 18
8. Click Next and token
We chose to do this on the Binance Smart Chain instead of Ethereum because the gas fees are much lower. On the Binance Smart Chain, you pay gas fees in BNB instead of ETH.
An easy way to get BNB is to withdraw it from your Binance.com account and choose BEP-20 Binance Smart Chain, instead of ERC-20. In order to send and receive RESDX, you need BNB on the Binance Smart Chain.
And that’s it!
Head over to the ResistanceDX site now and start exploring our easy-to-use decentralized exchange platform.
Stay tuned for another update coming soon with information on how to provide liquidity to resdx.io and earn more RESDX tokens from staking the initial liquidity pools.
Today’s launch also coincides with further steps towards radical decentralization of the governance of the Resistance project, so get your RESDX ready to vote on the first proposals on resdx.io.
Further down the roadmap, we plan to add a plug-in anonymizer for your transactions on ResistanceDX, using the existing RES token.
This is a massive step for the Resistance Foundation, thanks to the community for your ongoing support!
